The Bartlet

The Bartlet and Cautley House

– planning decision 24th February 2016

Regrettably, the planning application Gipping Homes submitted to build garages on the current Bartlet and Cautley House site has been rejected today.

Naturally we are extremely disappointed that the planning committee did not take account of the local sentiment and support for the project, and would not postpone a decision until a site visit had been undertaken, but we will now continue to complete this wonderful project in accordance with the scheme details already approved.

We do however feel it is regrettable that the community will not benefit from the extensive monies that would have been made available by Gipping Homes for affordable housing elsewhere in Felixstowe, had the scheme received the consent.

We will consider whether an appeal is appropriate, but our primary concern will be for our new residents and whether a delay would result in unavoidable disruption during construction.

We would like to take this opportunity to extend our thanks to Felixstowe Town Council for their support and to the Felixstowe residents who have backed the development thus far.
